This lives in America, Europe and Asia. It tends to live in nests abandoned by other birds, and does it's hunting at night.
It can turn it's head 135 degrees, so can look right over it's shoulder (but can't quite turn completely in the opposite direction, as is often thought about owls)
Also, it's eyes are fixed in the their sockets - i.e. they have to turn their whole head if they want to look in that direction.
